Dry-break Coupler System
IBC Tank Adapter

EMCO Wheaton was the first to pioneer the dry-break coupler system back in the 1950s. These products have been continually improved and redesigned over the years to meet industry’s changing needs. But the principle has always remained the same: to eliminate the chances of accidental spillages.

Often matched with IBC tank adapters and other fuel and chemical storage devices, EMCO Wheaton’s dry-break couplers offer operators a trusted solution that is proven in the field. Rugged, easy to use and cost-effective.

Eliminates Spillages

Simple to Use

Time-Tested Design

Rugged Components

Features & Benefits

The EMCO Wheaton dry-break coupler is designed to be easy to use. Operators simply push the nozzle onto the adapter and turn 10 degrees to lock it into place. Once engaged, the handle can be turned which pushes the piston forward to begin flow.

Spillages are virtually eliminated when using this coupler, as it cannot be opened unless positively engaged to an adapter. It is frequently used for low-pressure applications, such as when handling petroleum and light chemicals.

Businesses across the world use this product daily, with EMCO Wheaton regularly receiving positive feedback. Customers have commented on its rugged design, ability to rise to a range of different applications, and long working life with minimal repairs required.

Technical Info

Dry-break couplers come in 1”-3” sizes and have a working pressure of 6 bar (87 psi).

Customers can choose from anodised aluminium, brass and stainless-steel body construction and a wide range of different seals, including Viton, Buna and Chemraz.

EMCO Wheaton can modify custom material and seal options to meet your needs.

Applications

Revered for its versatility, this product is used extensively across the world in a range of different environments where petroleum and light chemicals are handled.

These include offloading distillate and gasolines from small trucks, aviation refueling, DEF storage and delivery, and crop spraying applications.

Aftermarket

The EMCO Wheaton dry-break coupler is resilient by design and requires very little maintenance over its working life.

However, general wear and tear can be easily managed with the support of our in-field repair kit program, which includes all original spares needed to get equipment running optimally.
