EMCO Wheaton’s G2266 is an automatic fueling system for off-road diesel tanks. It is widely used in demanding environments, such as mining, where vehicles require high-speed fueling, no spillages and protection from dust and dirt.
This system is proven in the field and is recognised for its rugged design. Users benefit from rapid refueling that requires minimal operator intervention – allowing colleagues to service other parts of the vehicle while filling is taking place.
This off-road system consists of the G2266 nozzle, G40 Omnivent and an adaptor fitted with a male or female NPT inlet. Slots fitted in the system’s adaptor engage the nozzle – operators can then turn the unit 30 degrees clockwise to release a mechanism that prevents it from opening when not correctly connected. Once engaged, the operating lever can be rotated roughly 200 degrees counter-clockwise to a positive stop. This action opens the dry-break poppet and locks the nozzle so it cannot be removed while in the open position. From here, the main valve lever can be opened and fuel will begin to flow into the tank.
Like the adaptor, EMCO Wheaton’s G40 Omnivent is easily fitted to any off-road tank. It vents displaced air as filling begins and monitors the volume of fuel in a vehicle. Once fuel reaches a predetermined level, a float valve in the Omnivent shuts and the tank is then pressurised. Pressurising the fuel tank then activates the nozzle’s automatic shut-off feature.
This intuitive design gives the system a number of key benefits for those working in off-road environments.
Nozzle The G2266 nozzle has a 1.5-inch NPT or BSP inlet and is capable of handling flow rates of 185-565 litres/min (50-150 US gallons/min). The body and levers are made from aluminium, seals are Buna N and the bumper ring is made from PVC. Swivel attachments are also available. Total weight is 3.5kg.
Adaptor The G2266 system comes with a two-inch dry-break adaptor complete with male or female NPT or BSP inlet. The adapter is also offered as a flanged external adapter, and internal flange mountings are available. All systems are shipped with dust caps. EMCO Wheaton’s engineers can also design a bespoke solution, should the standard package not meet your fueling requirements.
Omnivent The Omnivent comes with a standard two-inch NPT mounting and has a built-in pressure relief device set at 0.96 bar (14 psi). This product comes with a hose connection to permit remote discharge. The fuel level is adjustable to suit different tank applications.
The G266 system is specifically designed for off-road use and is adaptable to many different types of vehicles, including mining trucks, gantry cranes and straddle carriers.
This system’s heavy-duty components and simple design make it incredibly reliable, even in the toughest environments. However, some maintenance is required to ensure optimum working condition. EMCO Wheaton provides OEM spares and a repair kit programme to keep you moving. No specialist knowledge is required and most servicing can be carried out in the field.
